Comfort Care
What is Comfort Care?
Comfort care is a program designed to prevent and manage symptoms and side effects related to various illnesses. The goal of Springfield Nursing & Rehab’s program is to help people feel better by providing emotional, social, and spiritual guidance, in addition to symptom management.
Comfort care is offered to people with:
- Cancer
- Kidney failure
- Heart failure
- Lung disease
- Dementia
And many other diseases.
Comfort care can provide comfort at the beginning of a diagnosis, compared to other comfort programs focusing on end of life, which begin after treatment for the disease has ceased. With comfort care, treatment measures continue, meaning you are able to receive services such as physical, occupational, speech, and IV therapy.
