Johnny B. the Centenarian

Johnny Beavers

Johnny B. celebrated his 100th birthday on January 30, 2020. Johnny was born in Willisburg, Kentucky (Northern Washington County) where he resided most of his life. His parents’ names were William “Willie” & Mattie B., both of Willisburg. When he was 8 years old, he had a pet pig.

Growing up he attended Mount Freedom Church and met the love of his life, Annabelle, at a Revival. As the story goes, she didn’t have a ride home from the revival, he offered to take her home, she accepted, and since then they were married for 50 years. They have 2 daughters Carol W. (Louisville) and Judy C. (Harrodsburg).

He worked for JB Jenkins Trucking Company in Willisburg hauling blacktop and gravel for road construction. Then later bought a farm in Cardwell where he raised tobacco and livestock. His dog, Rover, would chase the cattle into the different fields to graze and accompany Johnny when he would milk cows.

Johnny is the oldest of 4 generations: 2 Daughters, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He also has one brother living, out of many brother and sisters, Morgan B., who is 105 years old resides in Mount Washington Kentucky.

For his 100th birthday we have asked for 100 birthday cards!
