Letter from the Administrator

The 2017-2018 flu season has been one of the worst on record in Kentucky. Many schools have closed for illness, many hospitals and nursing homes have had to restrict visitation and admissions to help keep the flu from spreading. Springfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has had a few cases of the flu among staff and residents we have thankfully, but spared the full effects of the flu season so far. This has been due to several interventions that we have put into place to help reduce the risk of the flu from spreading. While we can implement many precautions the best intervention is for our residents not to come into contact with anyone staff, other residents, or visitors that are showing signs and symptoms of the flu. With that in mind, I would like to ask that if you have the flu, or you have any symptom of the flu that you hold off on visiting for at least twenty-four hours after your last symptom.

Sincerely,

Austin J. Gibson
